Beyond
the Rim
by Oonah
V Joslin
Hats
were
always worn in church
not out
of modesty the pastor said
some
ladies of the congregation adorned their heads
as a
status symbol to show who had the greatest income
and to
hell with the needy and those who sat behind craning to see
beyond
the rim of this world,
to the
next.
