Eros and the Arts

Lying here, with my dogs,
I am day-dreaming about saucy male poets
who still know how to flirt—
a rare pleasure
in this blue, Calvinistic city of ours.

And I am fetched to higher realms,
such as where good poetry takes me—
because eros and the arts
are my main forms of transportation

in this humble little glimpse
of the world we are given.
