A different city

by Oonah V Joslin

each moment
emerges
from what has gone

before you were born
or we met
or were there together

all of us
young and lively;
or now.

We say,
It's changed. The old
folks have passed on.

We've changed.
Look at us.
Sixty plus

some gone before
the future arrived
and like it or not

we are reminded
the present was all
anyone ever owned

and is.
