Arctic Vortex Aftermath

by Katherine L. Gordon

There are no gods in the wilderness,
only wolves remain scavenging
in the four corners of the savage winds.
Angels are made of black iron,
refrain from kissing their frozen feet.
In the tangle of crushed trees:
a flurry of fur and tails,
monkeys are returning.
