A Poet Can Blow Soap Bubbles
by Jackie ChouA poet doesn't have to be
a dark soul,
but can wake up each day
feeling lucky
to be who she is.
A poet doesn't have to be
an old soul,
but can blow soap bubbles
past the age of eighteen,
still daddy's little girl.
A poet doesn't have to be
an outcast,
but can wear designer gowns,
belong to an elite crowd.
A poet doesn't have to shun
the popular girls,
but can be one herself.
A poet can be someone
like me or you.
